ANC LP applauds court decision clearing way for elective conference

The African National Congress (ANC) in Limpopo has welcomed the Polokwane High Court ruling against an urgent application to interdict the provincial elective conference.

The court has dismissed the application and struck the matter off the roll due to lack of urgency. Judge Mashudu Tshivhase has also ruled that the applicant, Basil Mabasa, didn’t exhaust all internal party dispute resolution procedures.

Judge Tshivhase’s ruling paves the way for the conference to go ahead. ANC secretary Reuben Madadzhe says their doors are open if their members have unresolved disputes.

“As the PEC of Limpopo we are very much happy we are delighted about the judgment and we also want to appeal to our members that they also need to give their structure an opportunity to lead and to go into its conference and if there are issues that this wants to raise with us our doors are still open we will listen to them we don’t think we need just to keep them we’ve got a responsibility as the leadership of the province to go closer to them and listen to them and attend to the matters that they’re raising.”
