City of Tshwane’s Democratic Alliance (DA mayoral) candidate Cilliers Brink says his party will do everything in its power to remove Deputy Mayor and MMC for Finance, Eugene Modise, from office.

Brink insists Modise remains heavily implicated in the ongoing water tanker corruption scandal, among other allegations.
Brink was speaking to the SABC at the DA’s Johannesburg Regional Elective Congress.

His comments follow Tshwane Mayor Dr Nosiphi Moya’s move to remove Corporate and Shared Services MMC Kholofelo Morodi, who’s ActionSA membership has also since been terminated over corruption allegations.
Brink argues that the mayor must apply the same standard of accountability and act decisively against Modise.
“There is an elephant in the room that is Deputy Mayor Eugene Modise. He has been implicated in clear terms and we lodged a Public Protector complaint and opened a criminal case against him,” says Brink.
