Malema pours cold water on EFF–MK unity

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Leader Julius Malema has poured cold water on speculation that his party and Umkhonto Wesizwe Party (MKP) may be looking at coming together in the local government elections later this year.

The speculation has been sparked by MKP President Jacob Zuma’s s visit to Malema’s home in Limpopo to convey condolences on the passing of his aunt Martha Malema on Friday.

Zuma’s remarks focused on the need for unity between the two parties, however, Malema begs to differ.

“We want to thank President Zuma and the MKP for coming to our homes and sending condolences it is only African to do so. It has nothing to do with political agreements or not. We belong to different political parties. We will never come together.”
