Three suspects have been killed in a shootout with police in Benoni on the East Rand.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Gauteng say this follows a high-speed chase after a hijacking, attempted murder and kidnapping incident in Crystal Park in the early hours of Thursday morning.
They say the victim was not hurt.
Officers found two firearms and some of the possessions belonging to the victim.
