Inside the High Court in Pretoria where the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial is taking place.
The State prosecutor in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial Advocate George Baloyi says there are over 1 700 calls were made between accused two Bongani Ntanzi and his girlfriend while he was in prison.
This despite claims by Ntanzi that his cellphone was confiscated by the police following his arrest in June 2020.
Ntanzi is under cross examination at the High Court in Pretoria where he is appearing alongside four others for the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain.
Advocate Baloyi says numerous calls were made to Ntanzi’s girlfriend Lebo, however Lebo’s name was not saved in Ntanzi’s contact book.
Baloyi: There’s 1 718 calls between your number and Lebo’s number. You’ve indicated that Lebo’s number, was not on your phone.
Ntanzi: Yes, it is correct that her number was not saved on my phonebook since I knew her number of head.
Baloyi: Now, how would the person that called a number have known about this number, if it was not on your phone book.?
Ntanzi: Lebo will call my number, because she will see that it was live on Facebook, and she wanted to know where I was.
