Shivambu says he’s competent for MK Party SG role

Newly-appointed uMkhonto weSizwe (MK Party) Secretary-General, Floyd Shivambu, says the move is justified because he is competent.

The party confirmed the appointment earlier today. 

Shivambu became the MK Party’s national organiser after resigning from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) in August.

He was one of the EFF’s founding members alongside Julius Malema in 2013. 

Shivambu says the MK Party leader Jacob Zuma makes decisions that benefit party members. 

“One of the things that defines our president of uMkhonto weSizwe party – is zero tolerance to incompetence, zero tolerance to nonsense, zero tolerance to corrupt individuals and corrupt practices. So, whenever people do things that are not mandated and outside of the organisation, he takes decisions immediately. I am not incompetent, I am actually far much more suitable for the responsibility or whatever responsibility that the organisation can assign to me. So, he will never irrationally take a decision that shifts positions for the sake of it, he does it for sound political, ideological and organisational purposes and reasons.”
