Suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner General Shadrack Sibiya testifying at the Madlanga Commission.
Suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner General Shadrack Sibiya claims that the voice recording produced by Witness C of attempted murder accused, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala is AI generated.
During his testimony, Witness C produced a voice recording where Matlala can be heard confirming that he gifted Sibiya with 20 Impalas.
But Sibiya told the Madlanga Commission that Matlala has confirmed that the voice in the audio clip is not his.
“I’m very worried about the evidence leader, because she selectively chooses portions that she thinks could only address what she wants to achieve, but also deliberately choosing (sic) to ignore the fact that Mr Matlala raised an issue and said, ‘I have a problem with this recording, this is not my voice, it was AI generated’. That’s the first point.”
Sibiya has denied receiving Impalas from Matlala.
Evidence before the commission shows that Sibiya forwarded images of two impalas that were in distress to General Khosi Senthumule.
The images were sent to Senthumule two days after the alleged delivery from Matlala. But Sibiya maintains that the delivery of the animals from Matlala did not happen.
“I categorically deny that I acquired and received any impala from Matlala or from any other person for that matter. No animal was delivered to my plot pursuant to this discussion. In fact, the remaining blesbok on my property has already died. In any event, I am no longer in a financial position to maintain any animals, let alone required livestock,” says Sibiya.
