Ntanzi denies naming co-accused in second Meyiwa confession statement

Accused number two in the Senzo Meyiwa trial, Bongani Ntanzi, has denied giving the names of his co-accused to Magistrate Vivian Cronje who took down his second confession statement.

It is alleged that Ntanzi made two confession statements on his alleged involvement in the murder of the Bafana Bafana captain, detailing the role of his co-accused in contract killing.

Five men are appearing at the High Court in Pretoria for the 2014 murder of Meyiwa.

When questioned by defence counsel Sipho Ramosepele, Ntanzi says he did not know three of his co-accused the year of the murder.

Ramosepele: The document mentions people by name, who were allegedly involved in this incident. Did you tell the magistrate the names of those people?
Ntanzi: No.
Ramosepele: Where you with them, those people mentioned there on the day Senzo Meyiwa was killed?
Ntanzi: My lord, I’m seated with the gentlemen there in the dock. I do not know them. The only person that I know here is my brother, Sibiya. The other three gentlemen are unknown to me.
