SAPS National Head Fannie Masemola
National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola says the newly established task team, which will probe SAPS members implicated at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, has been given a time frame of three months to complete its work.
Masemola says the team will start its work next week.
The establishment of the task team follows a directive from the Presidency, prompted by the submission of an interim report from the commission.
Briefing the media in Pretoria on actions to be taken against those implicated at the Madlanga Commission, Masemola says members of the task team will be thoroughly screened.
“They should be finalising this work in less than three but of course we know that is quite a magnitude of work, but some of the work was being investigated in other task teams or other units. So, what one does now, we appointed a team is more a consolidation and we are quite convinced that they should be finished with their work within three months.”
