The accused, Imanuwela David, Froliana Joseph and her brother Ndilinasho Joseph, who are linked to the theft of $580,000 USD at South African President Cyril Ramaphosa’s farm, Phala Phala, appear in the Magistrate’s Court in Modimolle, South Africa October 7, 2024.
The trial of three people in the theft of $580 000 at President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm in Bela-Bela, Limpopo, is set to resume in the Modimolle Regional Court.
Previously, the court heard evidence from a cellphone data analyst that placed the accused and other people in the vicinity of the farm on the day of the break-in.
The court heard that the accused and other people made numerous cellphone calls to each other.
Meanwhile, accused number one, Immanuwela David, has been in custody since his arrest in November 2023.
Froliana and Ndilinasho Joseph are out on bail.
The accused allegedly broke into the farm and stole the money hidden in a sofa on February 9, 2020.
The trial has been put on the roll on February 3 and 16 for further hearing.
The three accused persons face multiple charges, including housebreaking, theft and money laundering.
