One of 14 learners killed Vanderbijlpark crash to be buried in LP


One of the 14 learners killed in a horrific crash between minibus taxi scholar transport and a truck in Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, will be laid to rest at a village in Limpopo Saturday .  

Sixteen-year-old Sagwadi Baloyi-Mathye will be buried at Olifantshoek village outside Giyani.  

The Hoerskool Vanderbijlpark learner died in hospital two days after the crash.  

Family spokesperson Pastor Steven Baloyi says their child’s life was cut short without realizing her dreams to become a nurse. 

“Service will resume at six o’clock in the morning on the 31 January 2026 on Saturday. The family is still in shock, heart broken by her saddened departure. All her dreams have been washed down to the drain.”
