Cross-examination continues of key witness Mr. X in Booysen trial


The defense counsel of alleged crime boss, Jerome Booysen, is expected to continue with the cross examination of a key state witness known as Mr. X.

The matter will resume in the Western Cape High Court this morning.

Booysen’s lawyer, Advocate Amanda Nel, has presented a list of offences for which Mr. X might be indemnified and prosecuted.

The offences include conspiracy to commit murder and the murder of Brian Wainstein, money-laundering, defeating the ends of justice, as well as possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition.

Booysen and eleven co-accused face charges relating to the murder of Wainstein in 2017 and the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.
