Ramaphosa condemns violent murders in SA over the past few days


President Cyril Ramaphosa has condemned violent murders that took place across the country in the past few days.

At least 26 people were killed in incidents of violence on the Cape Flats in Cape Town since last Friday.

On Tuesday, two people were fatally shot outside the Booysens Magistrate’s Court in Johannesburg.

On Wednesday, five men were shot dead outside an Atteridgeville tuck shop in Pretoria and on Thursday, four teachers at Ntabankulu Primary School in the Eastern Cape succumbed to gunshot wounds.

Speaking on the sidelines of the three-day ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) Lekgotla in Boksburg, Ramaphosa told the media that he has engaged National Police Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola, to expand efforts to combat murders and other acts of violent crime.
