Memorial Service for the learners who lost their lives in a Vanderbijlpark scholar transport accident takes at Saul Tsotetsi Sports Ground in Sebokeng, Vaal on January 23, 2026.
Several funeral services for some of the 14 learners who died in Monday’s Vanderbijlpark crash will be held in separate locations across the Vaal in Gauteng on Saturday.
The taxi driver, Ayanda Dludla, appeared in the local magistrate’s court on Thursday on several charges, including 14 counts of murder.
Eighteen-year-old Phehello Motaung and seven-year-old Lesego Sefatsa are among learners whose funeral service will be at their home in Zone 14, Sebokeng.
Other funerals to be held are those of Sibongile Madonsela, Bohlale Lekekela, Buhle Radebe, Leano Moiloa and Naledi Motsapi.
On Sunday, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi will be among the mourners at a joint funeral of the other three learners at the Saul Tsotetsi Sports Ground in Sebokeng.
