Defence calls for reopening of entire DJ Warras killing case

The defence lawyer in the killing of Warrick Stock also known as “DJ Warras” says he wants the entire case to be reopened.

Attorney Dumisani Mabunda, who is representing the accused Victor Majola, says he wants to present new evidence as one of the media houses has distributed CCTV footage that he requested.

Apparently Majola is not in the footage that has been circulating on social media.

This comes after the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court dismissed the application yesterday saying that there was only one copy at the Forensic Lab in Pretoria.

In yesterday’s argument, the defence team presented an affidavit from a Soweto mechanic confirming that Majola had come to fix his car when the media personality was killed.

Mabunda says it would be a miscarriage of justice if Majola were not granted an opportunity to see the footage.

“Your worship, as far as I’m concerned, this particular video is very relevant to this bail application because there’s issue of identity, as what time the particular incident happened and as to how many people are in this footage and the time of when the incident took place and the visibility of this video footage.”
