Congress of South African Trade Unions first deputy President, Mike Shingange
Congress of South African Trade Unions’ (COSATU) first Deputy President, Mike Shingange, has added his voice to utterances made by the African National Congress (ANC) National Chairperson, Gwede Mantashe, on the unemployment of young people.
In an interview with South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) News, Mantashe said that young people are passive when it comes to applying for job opportunities.
Shingange says maybe Mantashe has not come across young people who are applying for jobs.
He says maybe the youth should hand their CVs over to Mantashe at Saturday’s anniversary celebrations taking place at the Moruleng Stadium in the North West.
“If his government is of the view that the young people have not been looking for jobs, perhaps he has not come across them looking for jobs. So maybe they must give him CVs here. We agree. They have been looking for jobs and it’s not true that they have not been looking for jobs. If you have not seen them, perhaps he must receive the CVs here from them,” says Shingange.
