Fans confident as Bafana Bafana face Egypt in crucial AFCON clash

Excitement is building up ahead of this afternoon’s Bafana Bafana Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) match.

Across the country Bafana Bafana supporters are optimistic about a win against Egypt. Some supporters say the team has shown commitment after winning their first match in the AFCON opening match against Angola.

Soccer fans in Bloemfontein have gone as far as predicting the score, citing that Bafana Bafana will continue with their trail of victories.

“I think South Africa will win 2–0. Bocas will score 2 goals today,” says a fan.

“I feel amazing about today’s game. However, for now, we’re just doing the swimming, the meat, and everything,” says another fan.

“I’m feeling so proud. I do have hope in Bafana Bafana. I know very well that they don’t want to disappoint us at all. If they can just hold them, at least either we win or hold them to a draw, then they will be better,” adds another fan.

In KwaZulu-Natal fans also have high hopes for today’s soccer match but they don’t want a draw.

“For me, it’s a straight win for Bafana. The worst thing that can happen is a draw. There is no way the Egyptian gods can make it through today,” says a soccer fan.

“Hopefully, looking at the previous results against Egypt, I think we have performed a bit well, so we are looking for a win or a draw,” adds another.

Bafana Bafana fans in Mthatha also weighed in, citing positive results.

“I am expecting Bafana Bafana to go through against Egypt, and then Mbokazi is going to show us that the back line is solid. I just hope that the coach gives them enough chance to show themselves there. So, Bafana Bafana 2–0 against Egypt,” says a fan.

However, some Limpopo fans predicted a draw.

“I just want to say let us all trust the coach, because the coach is the only person who knows our players. If the first lineup is put on the ground to play, let us all go and trust,” says a fan.

“I don’t see a heavy score. I’m going to stand on the fence and say it’s going to be a lovely draw, because the two teams know that the last games are the ones they are going to win,” adds a fan.

The Bafana Bafana vs Egypt AFCON game will kick off at 5, this evening at the Adrar Stadium in Agadir, Morocco.
