Free State Health cautions against prioritising alcohol

The Free State Department of Health has cautioned against prioritising alcohol over health this festive season.

Health MEC Monyatso Mahlatsi says while the festive season brings excitement, it can also pose serious health risks, especially for people living with chronic conditions or those who rely on daily medication.

Mahlatsi says late nights, long-distance travelling and disrupted routines often cause people to forget or delay taking their medication.

He says missing a few doses can undo months of treatment progress and lead to dangerous complications.
