The Democratic Alliance (DA) leader in KwaZulu-Natal, Francois Rodgers says action will be taken following chaotic scenes that erupted at the Provincial Legislature today.
Drama unfolded when uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) failed to oust Premier Thami Ntuli in a motion of no confidence.
At least one person sustained injuries following a clash between police and the disgruntled MKP members.
Rodgers says the motion of no confidence was chaotic and the property was destroyed.
“Today, the motion of no confidence was absolutely chaotic, and the legislature’s property was destroyed, and doors were pulled off. What’s worse, the member of the MK assaulted the speaker of the legislature and the secretary of the legislature. This type of behaviour cannot and shouldn’t be condoned, and we will ensur,e as the DA that there are consequences in this particular case.”
