ATNS assures readiness for peak season travel after delays

The Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) has provided assurances that it is fully prepared for the festive season peak travel following operational challenges that resulted in flight delays.

This was due in part to a lack of instrument flight procedures at airports across the country.

ATNS Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications Mphilo Dlamini says they have worked throughout the year to stabilise the area around instrument flight procedures saying they are ready in terms of that particular area.

“So, without the weather, I don’t see any other thing that can be an issue this festive season – because almost all our airports across the network, the system is ready to take whatever demand in terms of operations. We are working closely with the airports operators, that we are talking of Airports Company South Africa (ACSA), we are talking of Lanseria, Kruger Mpumalanga all the airports’ operators in the country,” adds Dlamini.
