Afrika Mayibuye Movement will hold its first national convention this weekend to outline its policy position and affirm the current leadership.

With less than a year in existence, the party has already set its eyes on next year’s local government elections.

Afrika Mayibuye Movement spokesperson Sydney Baloyi says this gathering is an important event for the party as its blueprint will be affirmed.

“Almost 2 000 delegates who are coming here have been empowered to come and endorse a few things, one of them being a documentation that you are talking about, starting with our restoration manifesto, which is a document that clearly outlines the kind of movement we are.”
