A Cape Town man has been sentenced to 15 years in jail for stabbing a patron to death at a bar in Woodstock two years ago.
Police spokesperson Ndakhe Gwala says the deceased got into an argument with the accused, Ronald Benn, who then stabbed him three times.
“The deceased was drinking with his friend on Wednesday, 05 June 2024, at the mentioned address. He got into an argument with Ronald Benn, who in the heat of the moment, pulled out a knife and stabbed him three times. The deceased walked to the Woodstock police station and succumbed to his wounds upon arrival. A case of murder was registered and allocated to the seasoned Detective Sergeant Rudi van Blerk. The sergeant arrested the accused,” says Gwala.
