The Presiding Judge in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial Ratha Mokgoatlheng has ordered that accused number five, Fisokuhle Ntuli, be taken to a medical facility for treatment.
Ntuli, who is one of the five accused on trial for Meyiwa’s 2014 murder, arrived late at the High Court in Pretoria on Thursday morning.
He alleged that he had been assaulted by prison officials at the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre, after they refused him access to a telephone to speak to his lawyers on Wednesday.
Ntuli says this led to him refusing to leave his prison cell to come to court.
Judge Mokgoatlheng has postponed the matter until Friday.
We are told accused number 5, Fisokuhle Ntuli has not been brought to court. Indeed, he is not here.
