Investigating Directorate against Corruption (IDAC) Head Adv Andrea Johnson testifying before the Ad Hoc Committee at Parliament on November 6, 2025.
The Head of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) Advocate Andrea Johnson has refused to divulge the names of implicated politicians that they are investigating.
Johnson is testifying before Parliament’s Ad Hoc Committee, investigating allegations made by the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi during a media briefing in July this year.
Mkhwanazi made wide-ranging allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the justice system.
She refused to divulge the names of those politicians saying doing so will be irresponsible in the cause of justice.
“Until we get to the evidence. Honourable Malema I have learned that you can throw a name out there and then you follow what you think is an investigation part. But it does not amount to evidence. It will be irresponsible. You [divulging names would] caused an irreparable harm.”
“But what I can say [is] there are several persons who are implicated and regardless of their rankings and who they are and whether are public or private officials as long as evidence, IDAC will follow that evidence honorable member and where we can they will certainly be prosecuted,” she adds.
