Madlanga Commission hears about rifle found at Molefe’s home

A former member of the Political Killings Task Team has spoken about a rifle and ammunition found at the home of businessman and murder accused Katiso ‘KT’ Molefe during a police operation.

Captain Maxwell Wanda is testifying before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria.

Captain Wanda, who was a tactical commander in the task team, says that Witness ‘A’ took him through Molefe’s home in Sandhurst in December 2024.

The commission will hear testimony from three witnesses, including members of the Hawks, on Wednesday.

Captain Wanda explains what happened on the day that Molefe was arrested: “He also showed us, before we entered the house, he showed us just a fleet of cars. Some were on the carport and some on the inside of the garage, but the garage was opened.  And then amongst those cars, there was that one white BMW that I mentioned earlier on, that one, on the backseat had a rifle bag with three or four rifle magazines loaded with ammunition.”
