The African National Congress (ANC ) says its special National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting is central to strengthening organisational renewal and integrity. The meeting is set to start on Saturday and will conclude on Monday.

The party is expected to finalise the guidelines on its list process ahead of the Local Government Elections next year.
ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula says the meeting will also deliberate on the economy, governance and service delivery issues.
“This NEC will deliberate and resolve on critical matters, finalise guidelines on the list process. This is the process of selecting candidates for local government elections and key questions of economic development.”
