Minister of Electricity and Energy Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has assured businesspeople in Mpumalanga that electricity load reduction will soon be a thing of the past.
Ramokgopa was addressing delegates attending the two-day Investment and Mining Conference held in Middelburg.
Among other things, the conference is aimed at attracting investors to the province.
Minister Ramokgopa says electricity plays a critical role in economic development.
“We announced that we’re going to eliminate load reduction in every village, in every township, every street, every household, and that we’re going to do it in the next 12 months. It’s an important statement because the investors here must not be subjected to load reduction.”
