Camps Bay fire contained, crews remain to monitor hotspots

Fire and rescue crews will remain on the mountain slopes above Camps Bay in Cape Town to monitor the fire that broke out on Monday.

South African National Parks (SANParks) says that the fire had been contained late Monday night.

SanParks spokesperson, Charles Phahlane, says that no one had to be evacuated and no injuries or damage to property had been reported.

“We are keeping the team here, as you would know, as the weather predicts that the hot weather will continue throughout this week, those are conducive to a fire, so we do need our crew to be on standby,” says Phahlane.
