Meeting between Fawu, Coca-Cola SA put on ice until October

The meeting between the Food and Allied Workers’ Union and Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa has been postponed to the 2nd of October 2025.

This after the company and the union had disagreements about the number of representatives that should be allowed in the meeting.

Fawu’s General Secretary, Edwin Mabowa, says the next meeting will be held in a neutral place to be determined by the Council for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA).

This week, SABC News revealed that more than 600 jobs are at risk at Coca-Cola.

Mabowa says, “The meeting has been postponed to the 2nd of October to be held in a venue provided by the CCMA, whereby unions will not be limited to a certain number of individuals of representatives, as well as making sure that representatives or shop stewards of all the sides that are affected by this process must be present in the meeting on the 2nd of October.”
