African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) President Collen Malatji says the murder of one of their members from Limpopo, Nkateko Mbhoma who was shot on Tuesday morning, was not politically motivated.
The vehicle in which Mbhoma and other league members were travelling in was shot at in Leeudoringstad, outside Klerksdorp.
They were traveling to Kimberley for the second National General Council (NGC).

The NGC commences in Kimberley on Wednesday.
Malatji says they suspect criminality and maintains that they don’t think it is politically motivated.
“The area where the incident occurred, is an are full of illegal miners, the Zama Zamas which we are speaking against as the youth league, saying illegal miners are a problem. There are many suspicions we would not be able to speak on facts because investigations are still happening. It’s a good example that crime affects everyone, it affects members of the youth league, members of the community. The issue of crime in South Africa is an urgent matter that the President needs to attend to,” says Malatji.
