Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) Deputy Chairperson Janet Love says with service delivery an issue in many communities across the country, women should be encouraged to enter the local sphere of government.
She was speaking at an IEC event themed Women Championing Democracy – Paving the Way to 2026 Local Government Elections.
Love says women should see the failure of governance as an opportunity for them to actively participate in elections.
