Case against Pule Mabe, co-accused postponed to February 2026

Former African National Congress (ANC) national spokesperson Pule Mabe and six others will be back in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on February 18, next year.

Their case has been postponed to allow the defence time to examine the final charge sheet.

Mabe, his wife and five other co-accused face charges of fraud, corruption and contravention of the Public Finance Management Act.

This follows an investigation by the Special Investigating Unit and the Hawks into a tender worth over R27 million that was allegedly unlawfully awarded to Mabe’s company.

Speaking outside the court, Mabe questioned why his wife had been charged.

“The amount of emotional pressure for myself, my family and those who stand by us has been too much. There could be those who want us to rush this. We are not Nelson Mandela and we do not want to become him. I understand my case for what it is. My wife charged alongside me, (we) now need to ask for further particulars (on) which law or section (she has) defied…and how she became a wrong beneficiary of a legitimate sale that was led by her husband.”
