Didiza directs Parliament to consider Mkhwanazi allegations

National Assembly Speaker Thoko Didiza has directed Parliament to consider on an urgent basis revelations concerning the safety and security of the country.

The committees that are going to urgently look into this matter are Police, Justice, and Constitutional Development, as well as the Joint Standing Committee on Intelligence.

That’s in light of statements by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, that Police Minister, Senzo Mchunu, is affiliated with persons linked to criminal activities.

He also indicated that top police officials are involved in criminal activities.

Didiza wants the portfolio committees to, in terms of their respective mandates, consider security matters and report to the National Assembly.
