Former Deputy President David Mabuza
The South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) has paid tribute to former Deputy President David Mabuza.
Mabuza passed away on Thursday last week at the age of 64.
The civic organisation says that Mabuza was central to the ministerial committee on electricity, assisting to improving the energy crisis that impacted the country’s economy.
Sanco Treasurer Judith Nemadzinga-Tshabalala says the former deputy president has played a pivotal role during his tenure on the national energy national crisis.

Funeral arrangements
Mabuza will receive a Category 2 State Funeral with prescribed military ceremonial honours.
Government and the family are yet to announce the venue for the funeral service that will take place on Saturday in Mpumalanga.
Meanwhile, President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared that Days of National Mourning be observed from today until the evening of Saturday.
During this period, the National Flag must be flown at half-mast at all flag stations around the country.
