Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen says his objective is to place his country firmly on the map in South Africa.
He also says it’s important for the two countries to build a mutually beneficial relationship.
Austria is seeking new areas of investment in South Africa.

They include infrastructure, energy and water treatment projects.
Van der Bellen says South Africa is Austria’s critical investment partner.
“I’m very proud that 75 of Austrian subsidiaries are already operating in South Africa and have created about 7500 jobs. Austrian companies not only pride themselves on delivering high quality goods and services but also on being very loyal to the country they operate in, meaning when they enter a market, they plan to stay.”
