Deputy Minister on Higher Education and Training Buti Manamela has defended the Minister of Higher Education and Training Dr. Nobuhle Nkabane from attacks by some political parties.
The minister was tabling her budget vote in the National Assembly on Thursday afternoon.
Manamela took a swipe at the parties that rejected Nkabane’s budget vote, citing allegations of corruption against her.
“I think our DG is being charged with corruption, with graft. And the minister…again this is not MK Party where when you wake up accused of witchcraft tonight, the following day you get expelled. Accusation do not constitute conviction. You cannot come here and say people are being accused of this and that and everywhere else and you won’t prove any of those. You want our DG or our minister to follow the route that Shivambu followed to be the secretary to be expelled? Thank you very much,” Manamela explains.
