Murder accused Mduduzi Mnisi back in court for bail application

The man accused of the murder of 14-year-old Likhona Fose will continue applying for bail when the case resumes in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Mduduzi Mnisi faces a premeditated murder charge and has since pleaded not guilty.

Fose’s body was found in a veld near her Durban Deep home, west of Johannesburg, in May.

Mnisi maintains that he does not know the deceased and that on the day of her murder, he was in Daveyton, where he spent the night at his girlfriend Pinkie Gantso’s place.

Gantso was set to take the stand last week to testify on the whereabouts of Mnisi on the night Fose was killed, but could not proceed with her testimony as the case was postponed after the state indicated that new evidence in the case had emerged.

Fose’s grandfather, Thozamile Mlenze, is still hopeful that justice will prevail.

He believes there are more people involved in the murder of his granddaughter.
