President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that a National Convention will take place on 15 August this year to set the agenda of a National Dialogue on challenges and opportunities facing the country.
The President says the national convention will be representative of the people of South Africa.
The National Dialogue is a chance for all South Africans, from all walks of life, to come together and help shape the next chapter of our democracy.
Ramaphosa says the National Convention will represent the diversity of the South African nation.
“It will be a representative gathering, bringing together government, political parties, civil society, business, labour, traditional leaders, religious leaders, cultural workers, sports organisations, women, youth and community voices, among others,” adds the President.
According the President, the second National Convention will reinforce the country’s shared values and adopt a common vision and programme of action for our country into the future.
