Ramaphosa to deliver the eulogy at Dean Farisani’s funeral

President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the eulogy at the funeral service of African National Congress (ANC) politician Dean Farisani at the University of Venda in Limpopo, Saturday morning.

Farisani, who was a dean at the Lutheran Church, died in hospital last week after a long illness. Ramaphosa has accorded Farisani a Special Official Provincial Funeral Category Two.

Presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says President Ramaphosa will deliver the eulogy in honour of Dean Farisan.

He was jailed numerous times and left the country for his stance against apartheid and the then Venda homeland administration.

In recent years, he took a tough stance against the looting and collapse of the now-defunct VBS Mutual Bank.

Dean Farisani will be buried at Beuster-Maungani village outside Thohoyandou after a service to be held at the University of Venda stadium.
