The uMkhonto we Sizwe Party (MK Party) has won yet another ward in KwaZulu-Natal after clinching ward 18 in the Mandeni Local Municipality.
The party recently took a ward away from the Democratic Alliance (DA) in the eThekwini Metro in Durban.
Lindani Xhakaza from the MK party got 813 votes, Nkosiyapha Zulu from the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) got 575 votes, while Sanele Mathonsi from the African National Congress (ANC) got 533 votes.
The by-election took place yesterday.
The ward became vacant after ANC councillor Phendukani Mabhida was gunned down at his home in February this year.
