Ganief Hendricks: Founder and Leader of Al Jama-Ah
The leader of Al Jama-ah Party Ganief Hendricks says he hopes that a political leaders’ decision to visit self-proclaimed prophet and fugitive pastor Shepherd Bushiri will encourage him to return to South Africa to have his day in court.
He was reacting to mounting criticism against uMkhonto weSizwe Party Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu for visiting Bushiri’s church in Malawi during the Easter weekend.
Hendricks says that he faced similar criticism, after his engagement with Bushiri in Malawi.
“I also went to Malawi, after the building collapsed in Johannesburg and many Malawians were killed and he was a good conduit to assist he families that were affected. That was a few years ago and that also attracted a lot of controversy. We feel, the law must take its course and hope that these visits, will encourage him to return to South Africa voluntarily and then have his day in court,” says Hendricks.
