KwaZulu-Natal police are investigating a case of murder and four counts of attempted murder, after a man was killed and four people injured in a shooting incident at a tavern in the Madanfarm area in Sundumbili on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast.
Police spokesperson Paul Magwaza says two men were walking towards a tavern when an unknown man appeared and allegedly fired shots at them.
He says the gunman allegedly robbed the deceased of his firearm after shooting him.
Magwaza says police are also investigating a case of armed robbery.
“It is alleged that the 44-year-old deceased was walking with his friend towards the tavern. As they were close to the gate, one male appeared and fired shots at the deceased who fell on the ground. The suspect then removed the deceased’s firearm from him at fired towards the person who was walking with the deceased. He ran towards the tavern as the suspect shot randomly at those who were at the tavern. Investigations are ongoing, and so far, there’s has been no arrest.”
