The uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MK Party) leader Jacob Zuma is scheduled to deliver the Solomon Mahlangu lecture today as the country observes Freedom Day.

Zuma is expected to begin the commemoration of the young anti-apartheid activist at the Khosi Mampuru Correctional Facility in Pretoria where Mahlangu was held.

Zuma will also visit the cemetery in Mamelodi where Mahlangu was buried after being hanged in 1979.

At noon, Zuma will address the community of Mamelodi, Mahlangu’s birthplace, at the square named after the young freedom fighter.

The MK Party Tshwane Region will host the Solomon Mahlangu Lecture, to be delivered by H.E. President Zuma, at Solomon Mahlangu Square in Mamelodi, Gauteng, on 27 April 2025 from 09:00 AM. pic.twitter.com/U90r8CtDq0
