South Africa’s Aiden Markram and Dewald Brevis celebrates after taking a wicket from Australia.
Explosive South African batter, Dewald Brevis, has come of age in the second T20 International against Australia in Darwin, Australia.
The Proteas, who lost the opening T20 International game at the same venue this past Sunday, were put into bat.
The visitors posted 218 for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs, thanks mainly to Brevis’ unbeaten 125 off 56 balls – the highest individual T20 International knock by a South African.
The 22-year-old, affectionately known as Baby AB, who had a top score of 41 and averaged 20 before today, also scored the second fastest T20 International century for the Proteas.
He reached three figures off only 41 deliveries, hitting nine fours and five sixes in the process.
Brevis is also the youngest Protea to achieve this feat.
