Yellow Level 2 severe weather warning issued for 4 provinces


The South African Weather Service has issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon.

A level two warning involves a high likelihood of inclement weather, but with minor impact.

The provinces affected by the warning include Gauteng, Free State, Mpumalanga, and southern parts of the Limpopo province.

“There’s also a high likelihood of minor impacts that are associated with these severe thunderstorms. The public is cautioned to stay indoors as possible and off the roads. They are also cautioned to avoid crossing rivers and streams where water is above the ankles,” says Forecaster Samkelisiwe Thwala.
