The case against the former SAA Board Member, Yakhe Kwinana, has been postponed in the East London Magistrate’s Court, in the Eastern Cape to the 5th of August.
The lengthy postponement is to allow time for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to make a decision on whether to continue with the case against her.
She faces charges of extortion and malicious damage to property related to a portion of land near the King Phalo Airport in East London.
Kwinana says she needs to attend to her medical needs.
“I am citing medical reasons because l am sick. l am psychologically affected by how the NIU treated me, and, in fact, l have to go to a physiotherapist because my arm was injured. So because of that, l requested a relaxation for my appearance on a weekly basis at the police station because I’m not a flight risk and l have complied with the bail conditions.”
