Defence witness Sifiso Zungu has referred to accused number two in the Senzo Meyiwa trial, Bongani Ntanzi, as a friend, while he is related to some of the accused.
Gwabini is under cross-examination at the High Court in Pretoria, where Ntanzi and four others are on trial for the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain.
Gwabini is said to have hosted a gathering at his hostel residence in Vosloorus, where all five accused were allegedly seen the day of the murder.
State prosecutor George Baloyi has been questioning Gwabini about his relationship with the accused.
Baloyi: You have mentioned that accused number one, Mr. Sibiya is your brother … (son of) your mother’s sister, is that correct?
Gwabini: Yes.
Baloyi: You have just testified today that accused number two, Mr. Ntanzi, you regard him as your friend.
Gwabini: Yes.
Baloyi: And we also asked you about Mr. Nkazimulo Ntuli. And you testify today that he’s your cousin, your uncle’s child.
Gwabini : Yes.
