The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry hearing evidence from Witness B, October 23, 2025.
Witness B has told the Madlanga Commission that she sometimes wonders what could’ve happened to her and Witness A, had it not been for the intervention of the KZN Political Killings Task Team in assisting with the arrest of alleged murderer Katiso “KT” Molefe.
Witness B, alongside Witness A, were instrumental in cracking the murder of Vereeniging Engineer and Q-Tech employee Armand Swart.
Both detectives have received resistance from various law enforcement agencies, including the Hawks, JMPD and Gauteng Traffic officials, since Molefe was arrested.
Witness B says, “With everything that I have been involved in and with every person that I have arrested, this was really amazing to me, with so much interference from various enforcement and agencies. Not only SAPS, it made me wonder what was so special about the suspect that was arrested on that day.”
The commission also heard how witness C joined the team investigating Swart’s killing in December 2024, days before the team conducted a search and seizure at murder accused Katiso KT Molefe’s Sandhurst home in Johannesburg.
At the time, Witness B and A were living at a safe house since November 2024. Witness B says Witness C came into the team as an investigator.
“On the arrival of witness C, he was tasked more to focus on the different dockets that were there at the time. Witness A and I focused on the murders while he was busy with this one. We did not brief each other daily because we were busy with different taskings.”
