Witness A expected to make more startling revelations at Inquiry

Witness A will continue to testify before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria on Tuesday morning.

The detective who is tasked with investigating criminal cartels, made startling revelations on Monday.

They related to the links between the police’s top brass and alleged criminal underworld figures.

At the centre of the testimony of the witness was the murder of Vereeniging-based engineer Armand Swart in April 2024.

The gun used to kill Swart was subsequently linked to various other crimes including the murder of Oupa Sefoka also known as Dj Sumbody and Dj Vintos.

Witness A has testified how the empty cartridges linked to the murder of Armand Swart were found in the vehicle belonging to veteran police officer Michael Pule Tau.

Tau and two other accomplices Musa Kekana and Tiego Mabusela were arrested in April 2024 for the engineer’s murder.

Witness A further testified that the empty cartridges were placed in a plastic bag.

He says this led him to believe that the cartridges were collected on the crime scene in an effort to dispose of them later.

This would subsequently mean that the casings would not be linked to the firearm used to murder Swart.
