Western Cape Premier Alan Winde says his administration will focus on supporting businesses to drive economic growth and create jobs over the next five years.

Speaking at the 2025 State of the Province Address (SOPA) in Beaufort West, Winde highlighted recent job creation figures in the province.

“In the last quarter, jobs came up. This province was responsible for another 62 000 new jobs. That’s 62 000 new jobs out of a total of 132 000 jobs created in our country, and that’s nearly half of all the new jobs in SA. These are not just numbers; they represent residents who are part of our economy,” he said.

Winde says the province is committed to reducing unemployment and ensuring economic opportunities for its residents.
